Our History

The CEM Ability Village story was birthed as a result of the Church’s vision in supporting Persons living with Disabilities (PWD’s) through its Annual Programme dubbed “The Day Of Help for Persons living with Disabilities”.

A strategic programme held yearly in different parts of Ghana, which seeks to provide support to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) with basic essentials, such as food, sanitary items, mattresses, mobility aids (white canes and wheelchairs), and other specialized aids. PWDs in farming communities also receive farming implements and sometimes financial support for complicated surgeries for community members. There is also free medical screening and treatment by a team of medical doctors and pharmacists catering for several thousands of beneficiaries at no cost to them.

The programme which takes care of over 20,000 individuals at a time, was instituted in 2016 and it’s still running. In line with this vision and a commitment to provide sustainable support to PWDs, a permanent community to mentor and build their capacity was born, i.e. CEM ABILITY VILLAGE. The hands-on training and experience will equip them with technical and employable skills. This hopefully will take some of them off the streets leading to a long-term socio-economic change in their lives.
